Megapoxy 69 Instructional Video
Product Overview
Megaoxy 69 is a two component high strength impactresistant epoxy adhesive for many types of bonding and filling applications. It is available in conveniently prepackaged 1, 4, and 20 L kits with a simple 1:1 mix ratio.
Surface Preparation
Before you begin mixing, you’ll need to ensure that all contact surfaces like metal, concrete, and stone are clean and clear of oil, dust, and any other surface contaminants.
Concrete and stone surfaces should be prepared by grinding the surface and removing all the dust and debris. This helps ensure effective bonding contact. Compressed air can be used to remove dust from cracks and holes. Clean metal surfaces with acetone to remove any oils or contaminants.
Megapoxy 69 is VOCC free. As with all epoxy resins, please wear appropriate PPE, including eyewear, gloves, and clothing, when mixing and applying the product.
Mixing Instructions
Megaoxy 69 is a high strength epoxy adhesive gel. It has a 45minute work time and a 24-hour cure at 25°.
Best to be mixed onto a non-porous, nice flat surface. It’s a 1:1 product.
The part A is a nice wide soft gel. There’s equal amounts of the part A, the part B. Same height, same roundness, mix only enough that you can use in the 45minute work time.
The part B, nice creamy yellow.
Folding the part A over the part B and then working together until it’s all nice and uniform in one color. You can see when it’s streaking out and it’s all mixing quite easily.
Make sure to scrape the underneath and onto the flat mixing surface.
This will help you to remove any part A. So you can see it’s nice and soft, easy to mix.
Once it’s all nice and uniform in color, no streaks, make sure to clean the spatula.
You sometimes can get unmixed part A and part B left on it. Work it through again.
Once it’s all nice and one color, it’s ready for use.
Recommended Uses
Megaoxy 69 is recommended for bonding metals to metal and concrete, furniture repairs, granite and marble assembly, and structural timber joinery.
It is ideal for bonding where high strength glue lines are required in marine environments for miter joints and laminating timber.
Application
Applying Megaoxy 69 is easy and fast. Uncured 69 can be cleaned with thinners. It will cure stronger than concrete with good chemical resistance.
It can be applied by TR or gunned using a 300 mil cartridge, a standard corking gun, or a caterer’s piping bag.
To load the corking gun, trail the combined epoxy onto a sheet of paper. Roll it up and place it into the empty cartridge.
Add sawdust or epoxy pigments to help match your timber.
