Megapoxy PM Instructional Video

Product Overview

Megapoxy PM is a two-component gap-filling epoxy paste adhesive for many types of bonding and filling applications. It is available in prepackaged 1, 4, and 20 L kits as well as a convenient 600 mL Duo Mix cartridge. Megapoxy PM has a simple 1:1 mix ratio.

Surface Preparation

Before you begin, you’ll need to ensure that all contact surfaces like metal, concrete, and stone are clean and clear of oil, dust, and any other surface contaminants. Concrete and stone surfaces should be prepared by grinding the surface and removing all the dust and debris. This helps ensure effective bonding contact. Compressed air can be used to remove dust from cracks and holes. Clean metal surfaces with acetone to remove any oils or contaminants. Megapoxy PM is VOC free. As with all epoxy resins, please wear appropriate PPE including eyewear, gloves, and clothing when mixing and applying the product.

Mixing

Megapoxy PM is a thick, creamy epoxy paste. It has little sag, a 45-minute work time, and a 24-hour cure at 25°. When mixing Megapoxy PM, it’s best to be mixing on a nice flat nonporous surface. Megapoxy PM is a 1:1 by volume product and the Part A is very nice and white. When mixing the A and the B together, just make sure that because it’s by volume, the Part A and the Part B are the same height and the same roundness.

Visually today we’re mixing Megapoxy PM white. It’s also available in grey, where the Part B is a dark grey. Once you’ve got the Part A and the Part B looking similar in height and roundness, work it together by folding over and folding through the product until it’s literally all one colour. Usually it’s approximately 3 minutes of mixing. The flat surface allows us to make sure that we get all the A and the B off the surface. Blend it together, and make sure to clean the scrapers—there can be unmixed product on the scraper—and then work that unmixed product back through, making sure that there are no streaks. Once it’s all mixed nice and uniform in colour, it’s ready for use.

Applications

The PM Duo Mix cartridge is simple to use with no premixing required. Its static mixer nozzle perfectly combines Parts A and B for a fuss-free result and less waste. Megapoxy PM is recommended for bonding precast concrete, grouting bolts, natural stone, bricks, ceramics, and metals. It is ideal for filling and repair of concrete pipes and tanks, fibreglass, patching concrete floors, stairs, concrete columns, and in-situ formed concrete.

You can use Megapoxy PF Rapid Set in combination with PM to secure vertical articles while it cures. Applying Megapoxy PM to cracks and holes is easy and fast, and because it doesn’t sag, PM is ideal for overhead or vertical surfaces. Uncured PM can be cleaned with Megapoxy thinners. It’s rapid setting and will cure even in cold or damp conditions. Stronger than concrete with good chemical resistance, once cured PM has a high compressive strength, but it can be ground, sanded, and shaped easily with power tools to give a smooth surface finish.
