How to use

How to Use

Megapoxy 132 is a low-viscosity, epoxy resin for many types of filling and coating applications.

It is a high strength coating, stocked in clear and N35 grey with other colours available by special order in the 30 litre kits.

Megapoxy 132 is available in conveniently pre-packaged 4.5 litre, 15 litre and 30 litre kits with a simple 2:1 mix ratio.

It has a 30 minute work time and a 24 hour cure time at 25ºC.

Surface Preparation

Before you begin mixing, you need to ensure that all contact surfaces like metal, concrete and stone are clean and clear of oil, dust and any other surface contaminants.

Concrete and stone surfaces should be prepared by grinding the surface and removing all the dust and debris. Concrete surfaces should be ground back or as a minimum acid etched to ensure effective bonding contact.

Safety and PPE

Megapoxy 132 is VOC-free. As with all epoxy resins, please wear appropriate PPE, including eyewear gloves and clothing.

Mixing

IMPORTANT. Only make a suitable quantity that can be used within the 30 minute work time!

Megapoxy 132 is easily mixed by hand. For larger projects and larger volumes of product, you can mix mechanically.

Using measuring tubs, pour the required amount of Part A. Allow enough volume in the mixing tub for the full amount of epoxy. Pour in the correct amount of Part B.

We recommend mixing Megapoxy 132 for 3 minutes using a timer.

Set the timer for 2 minutes.

Begin by placing a flat spatula into the mix (to the base of the tub) and slowly stir. The two parts will be still visibly streaky until combined. Ensure you scape around the base and sides to gather all the un-mixed epoxy and continue to mix.

After 2 minutes scrape any un-mixed product off the sides of the container and the spatula before mixing again for a further one minute (set timer).

After the one minute is complete the Megapoxy 132 should appear clear and streak-free, and ready for use.

Application

Megapoxy 132 is recommended for surface repairs and protection; for floor coatings; concrete protection and surface sealing; fibreglass and carbon fibre; and craft applications.

It is ideal for protecting and waterproofing structural concrete and timber, and is approved for food and beverage production (Complies with AS/NZ 4020:2018 testing of products for use in contact with drinking water). It can be used for decorative surfacing and in factories, sporting complexes where high abrasion resistance and serviceability are required.

It can be applied with a brush, poured or rolled. Cut-in edges with a brush before roller coating.

Two thin roller coats will give the best result. Ensure you leave time for the first coat to set (6 hours) before applying the second coat.

Clean-up

Uncured Megapoxy 132 can be cleaned with Megapoxy Thinners.

Please Dispose of contents and container in accordance with local, regional, national and international regulations.

Finishing

Although applying Megapoxy 132 is easy and fast, it will cure stronger than concrete with good chemical resistance and can be machined, sanded and polished to a fine finish.
