Sky-high quality and service: solutions for major public transport project

Client needs + challenges

  • Reliable, continuous supply of large volumes.
  • Fast turnaround and responsive service.
  • High vibration resistance and strength for rail track
  • UV resistance for exposed track pads.
  • Exceptional adhesion for segment bonding.
  • Australian-made products.

Solutions, service + simplicity

We recommended and supplied the ideal solution for this project, with a combination of complementary products. We also supported and advised the team throughout application.

  • The team applied Megapoxy PME SBA (Segment Bridge Adhesive) to the segment face before landing each segment onto the next match-cast segment face. Extremely durable, Megapoxy PME SBA is less viscous than Megapoxy PM and can be applied by hand or spray equipment over a larger area.
  • Megapoxy P1 was used to fill any gaps between the segments once bridge construction was complete. A high-strength paste, Megapoxy P1 is ideal for structural bonding and gap filling.
  • When the rail height and width were set, formwork was placed around the Delkor Rail Egg Pad (a rail fastener for high vibration and noise attenuation)and Megapoxy 206 Ultra was poured into the formwork to lock the rail system onto the concrete rail deck. This flowable, heavy duty epoxy grout is perfect for civil engineering and structural applications where maximum strength is essential.
  • Where segment crack repair was needed, the client used Megapoxy HX and Megapoxy PM.

Standout benefits

  • Confident, ready supply to help keep a major infrastructure project on track.
  • Solutions for a project involving more than 1,200 concrete segments.
  • Versatile, easy to use products for challenging positioning and application.
  • Proven, trusted quality for network with trains running every four minutes in the peak.
