Grouted for the journey: epoxy grout strength behind Sydney's light rail
Megapoxy 206 Ultra was used as a grout layer to secure the rail fastening system across this new 12-kilometre, two-way track featuring 16 light rail stops. With high-frequency services seven days a week, the line is designed to serve thousands of daily commuters and link major health, education and business precincts with growing local communities. By providing around 20,000 litres of high-strength epoxy grout for rail infrastructure, we delivered a durable foundation for this major piece of Sydney’s transport network.
Client needs + challenges

- Technical support and service throughout installation.
Solutions, service + simplicity
Megapoxy 206 Ultra was supplied for the DELKOR Egg Fastening System, which secures tram rails to the concrete track slab while reducing vibration and noise. It was applied as a grout layer beneath the fastening assemblies, filling the gap between the baseplate and the slab to create a strong bond that locks the system in place. This bedding layer also spreads load and absorbs vibration, helping protect the concrete from cracking and long-term fatigue.
The Megapoxy team worked closely with the contractor and installation crews, supporting precise scheduling, smooth application and consistent results across the build.
