Megapoxy LVS Instructional Video
Product Overview
Megapoxy LVS is a low-viscosity sealer for many types of coating applications. It is clear setting and is available in conveniently prepackaged 6 and 15 L kits with a simple 2:1 mix ratio.
Surface Preparation
Before you begin mixing, you’ll need to ensure that all contact surfaces like metal, concrete, and stone are clean and clear of oil, dust, and any other surface contaminants. Concrete and stone surfaces should be prepared by grinding the surface and removing all the dust and debris. This helps ensure effective bonding contact. Concrete surfaces should be ground back or, as a minimum, acid etched to ensure effective bonding contact. As with all epoxy resins, please wear appropriate PPE including eyewear, gloves, and clothing when mixing and applying the product.
Mixing
Megapoxy LVS is a low-viscosity sealer. It is a thin liquid resin with a 30-minute work time and a 24-hour cure at 25°. Megapoxy LVS has a ratio of two parts A to one part B. It is a very thin liquid and quite easy to mix.
We recommend mixing the LVS for 3 minutes using your timer. Mix for 2 minutes, making sure to scrape the bottom and into all the corners of the mixing container. After 2 minutes, scrape the sides and then mix for a further 1 minute. This allows the unmixed product that was on the sides of the container to be blended through the mixed product.
For larger projects, the Megapoxy LVS can be used as a pre-mix kit. We recommend doing this with a few more people than just yourself. If doing it by yourself, it is recommended to mix smaller quantities.
Applications
Megapoxy LVS is recommended for surface strengthening of timber and masonry, sealing concrete floor coating, and fine crack sealing. LVS is ideal for protecting structural concrete and timber against moisture, salt-laden air, and corrosion.
Application Method
Applying Megapoxy LVS is easy and fast. Uncured LVS can be cleaned with Megapoxy thinners. It will cure stronger than concrete with excellent chemical resistance. It can be applied with a brush or roller.
If using as a primer: Apply one coat and finish with Megapoxy MC as the final coat.
If using LVS as the final coat: Two coats are required.
