How to use

How to Use

Megapoxy 63 is a two component, high strength, epoxy adhesive gel. It combines incredible durability and impact resistance with a translucent finish. It can be used to create a thin glue line and is ideal for mitring and intricate work.

It has a 45 minute work time and a 24 hour cure at 25ºC.

The part A is a white soft gel, while part B is a creamy yellow gel.

Surface Preparation

Concrete and stone surfaces should be prepared by grinding the surface and removing all the dust and debris.
This helps ensure effective bonding contact.

Compressed air can be used to remove dust from cracks and holes.

Clean metal surfaces with acetone to remove any oils or contaminants.

Safety and PPE

Megapoxy 63 is VOC-free. As with all epoxy resins, please wear appropriate PPE, including eyewear gloves and clothing. (icons for VOC-Free; eyewear; gloves; clothing)

Megapoxy 63 should be mixed on a non-porous, flat surface.

Mixing

IMPORTANT. Only make a suitable quantity that can be used within the 45 minute work time!

Using individual spatulas for Part A and Part B, measure out 2 parts of part A and 1 part of part B. Place them next to each other on the mixing surface. Ensure you have the same height and roundness for both parts BEFORE combining.

To combine, using the spatulas, begin by folding part A over part B and then working together in a zig-zag motion.

Make sure to scrape the underneath the combined product and onto the flat mixing surface. This will help to collect and combine any un-mixed part A or B.

While mixing the epoxy, be sure to clean the spatulas by scraping off any un-combined Part A or part B and mixing thoroughly.

When the epoxy appears completely streak-free (approximately 3mins), and uniform in colour, its ready for use.

Application

Megapoxy 63 can be applied by trowel; gunned with a standard 300ml caulking gun or a caterers’ piping bag.

To load into a caulking gun, first trowel the combined Megapoxy 63 onto an A4 sheet of paper. Roll up the paper narrow enough to fit into the gun cylinder and seal.

Sawdust or epoxy pigments can be added within the work-time to match your timber colour if desired.

Clean-up

Uncured Megapoxy 63 can be cleaned with Megapoxy Thinners.

Please Dispose of contents and container in accordance with local, regional, national and international regulations.

Finishing

Although applying Megapoxy 63 is easy and fast, it will cure stronger than concrete with good chemical resistance and can be machined, sanded and polished to a fine finish.
