Megapoxy H Instructional Video

Product Overview

Megapoxy H is a low-viscosity hydrophilic epoxy resin for many types of bonding and filling applications. It is clear setting or available in N35 grey, and is conveniently packaged in 4 L and 20 L kits with a simple 3:1 mix ratio.

Surface Preparation

Before you begin mixing, you’ll need to ensure that all contact surfaces like metal, concrete, and stone are clean and clear of oil, dust, and any other surface contaminants. Concrete and stone surfaces should be prepared by grinding the surface and removing all the dust and debris. This helps ensure effective bonding contact. Compressed air can be used to remove dust from cracks and holes. Clean metal surfaces with acetone to remove any oils or contaminants. Megapoxy H is VOC free. As with all epoxy resins, please wear appropriate PPE including eyewear, gloves, and clothing when mixing and applying the product.

Mixing

Megapoxy H is a low-viscosity hydrophilic liquid epoxy resin. It has a 30-minute work time with a 24-hour cure. It is available in clear and in N35 grey, an Australian standard colour. Megapoxy H has a mix ratio of three parts A to one part B.

Being a liquid product, mix only the volume required for the 30-minute work time. Even with the clear product, you can visually see the difference between Part A and Part B. Mix for 3 minutes using a timer. As recommended with Megapoxy H, you’ll see it transition from clear to milky and back to clear again as it blends.

During the first 2 minutes, scrape the bottom and all corners of the container to ensure no unmixed product remains. There is no need for rapid mixing—Megapoxy H blends easily by hand, even in larger volumes. After 2 minutes, scrape the sides again to remove any unmixed product, and scrape the spatula clean. Mix for one final minute until the product is streak-free and ready to use.

After mixing, even if bubbles are present, they will rise as the product warms. For non-hydrophilic applications, Megapoxy H also has a rapid-set hardener, H315.

Fine aggregates can also be added to produce epoxy mortars. A simple ratio is 3:1:12 — three parts A, one part B, and twelve parts sand, using the same size container for each measurement regardless of volume.

Applications

Megapoxy H is recommended for filling and repairs for wet-to-dry and new-to-old concrete bonding, concrete cracks, steel anchoring, and underwater or splash-zone structures and surfaces. When mixed with dry aggregate, Megapoxy H is ideal for non-slip floors and as an epoxy mortar for bridge and rail load-bearing pads, as well as industrial machinery grouting. Megapoxy H is a water- and food-safe contact material for commercial surfaces.

Application Method

Applying Megapoxy H is easy and fast. Uncured H can be cleaned with Megapoxy thinners. It will cure even in cold or damp conditions and cures stronger than concrete with good chemical resistance. It can be applied by paintbrush directly onto cracks or poured in using a craft-source bottle.
