How to use

How to Use

Megapoxy PM is a two-part gap filling epoxy paste adhesive for many types of bonding and filling applications.

It is available in conveniently pre-packaged 1 litre, 4 litre and 20 litre kits with a simple 1:1 mix ratio.

It has a 45 minute work time and a 24 hour cure time at 25ºC.

Surface Preparation

Before beginning to mix, ensure that all contact surfaces like metal, concrete and stone are clean and free of oil, dust and any other surface contaminants.

Concrete and stone surfaces should be prepared by grinding the surface and removing all the dust and debris.
This helps ensure effective bonding contact.

Compressed air can be used to remove dust from cracks and holes.

Clean metal surfaces with acetone to remove any oils or contaminants.

Safety and PPE

Megapoxy PM is VOC-free. As with all epoxy resins, please wear appropriate PPE, including eyewear gloves and clothing.

Mixing

IMPORTANT. Only make a suitable quantity that can be used within the 45-minute work time!

Megapoxy PM should be mixed on a non-porous, flat surface.

Using individual spatulas for Part A and Part B, measure out equal amounts from their containers. Place them next to each other on the mixing surface. Ensure you have the same height and roundness for both parts BEFORE combining.

To combine, start by using the spatulas to fold part A over the part B and then work them together in a zigzag motion.

Make sure to scrape the underneath the combined product and onto the flat mixing surface. This will help to collect and combine any unmixed part A or B.

While mixing the epoxy, make sure to clean the spatulas by scraping off any un-combined Part A or part B and then mix thoroughly.

When the epoxy appears completely streak-free and uniform in colour, it’s ready for use.

Application

Megapoxy PM is recommended for bonding pre-cast concrete; natural stone; bricks; ceramics; and metals.

It is ideal for filling and repair of concrete pipes and tanks; fibreglass; patching concrete floors; stairs; concrete columns; and in situ formed concrete.

You can use Megapoxy PF rapid-set in combination with Megapoxy PM to secure vertical articles while it cures.

Applying Megapoxy PM to cracks and holes is easy and fast, and because it’s low-sag, Megapoxy PM is ideal for overhead or vertical surfaces.

Clean-up

Uncured Megapoxy PM can be cleaned with Megapoxy Thinners.

Please Dispose of contents and container in accordance with local, regional, national and international regulations.

Finishing

It will cure stronger than concrete with good chemical resistance.

Once cured, Megapoxy PM can be machined, sanded and polished to a fine finish.

FAQs

What is the mix ratio for Megapoxy PM?

Megapoxy PM has a 1:1 mix ratio by volume – making it simple to measure, mix and apply accurately. Our priority is to make it easier to achieve the best results, while saving time and reducing waste. See our video for step-by-step instructions.

What is the working time for Megapoxy PM?

Megapoxy PM has a 45-minute work time and a 24-hour cure time at 25°C. This provides flexibility during application, while setting fully in a day. It cures in tough conditions (like cold and damp), providing robust adhesion and repairs with on-the-job simplicity. Always versatile, it has a wide range of applications, including bonding heavy tiles on beautiful sandstone cladding façades.

How can I remove uncured Megapoxy PM?

For hassle-free cleanup, uncured Megapoxy PM can simply be removed by using Megapoxy thinners or acetone.

What the best way to mix Megapoxy PM?

No special tools are needed for great results: simply mix the resin with a putty knife or spatula on a large mixing board. See our video for step-by-step instructions.

What is the shelf life of Megapoxy PM?
